A guide of Timisoara for teens

One of two educational kits I designed and illustrated during the summer of 2021. The materials detail historical landmarks belonging to 2023's future European Capital of Culture. Timișoara is a city located in Western Romania, in what used to be one of the Austro-Hungarian Empire's colonies, alongside with Transylvania.

The architectural landscape therefore comprises a very diverse eclectic heritage. A large number of ethnicities managed to thrive in this area despite the fact that this part of the country used to be called the Siberia of the Habsburg Empire. After the mashes and wetlands were systematically transformed into profitable agricultural land and offices and businesses developed, it was exactly the cultural diversity that finally nourished and contributed to the flourishing of the city.

The kit was set up starting from the documentation of Da'DeCe Association and supported by the National Institute of Patrimony. The entire pack of materials was printed by the crafty folks of Atelier Fabrik almost exclusively using only three Pantone colors. All of the illustrations are vectors knit together in Adobe Illustrator and set up using Adobe InDesign. The typefaces used are IBM Plex Sans and IBM Plex Serif, based on the visual identity of the National Institute of Patrimony.
